A Different Shade of Katy

Hair by Ben Skervin

揑 [like] the fact that we took a timeless classic look and made it our own modern version 朆en Skervin

For the Cover
1. Blow dry the hair with Maximista for root lift and texture.
2. Curl and pin one-inch square sections of the hair, using a little hair spray on each section. Curl the hair ends to roots to give more of a true curl than a wave.
3. Let curls set, then brush through them using a Mason and Pearson brush until the hair sets into a wave pattern. Back-comb the roots to give a little extra lift and spray some hair spray to finish the look.

For the first inside look
1. Part the hair in the center and take two sections (just behind the ear on each side to the crown to the back of the parting).
2. Lightly back-comb each side section to give a base for the roll. Brush upwards from the ear and downwards from the center part. Follow by rolling the hair inwards to the part to form a long sausage shape. Be sure sure it抯 quite high up on the head so that from the front the shape looks nice and square. Secure the roll in place using bobby pins and u-shaped grips.
3. Use Rock Hard Gel to smooth the sides and hold them in place.
4. Brush the back of the hair into a wave.

For the second inside look
1. Use the base of the first victory rolls. Brush the front up into rolls, joining the side rolls and creating a corner where the two rolls meet. Again, make sure you have a nice tight square shape, as this is more flattering to the face.
2. Finish using a little hair spray to smooth any flyaways.
