Golden Globes 2014

Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom

Hair by Ashley Streicher

It was all smiles for Andy Samberg at the Globes, where the comedian took home the Best Actor in a Comedy award for his starring role on the new hit show
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which won for Best Television Comedy. Andy抯 beautiful wife, musician Joanna Newsom, joined him at the awards show. Stylist Ashley Streicher was with the duo before the awards ceremony to help them get red-carpet ready. 揂ndy wanted something laid back, not too 憇tyled looking, Ashley said. 揥e started with me giving him a fresh haircut, since he is wearing it much shorter for his role on the show. As for Joanna, the inspiration for her look was her gorgeous Zac Posen dress and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. 揗aking the decision to wear all her long hair down was bold considering how big the look already was, Ashley said. 揃ut, we thought soft wavy curls just to one side would really complement the look.

Get Andy抯 Look:
1. Emulsify Rough Luxury Soft Molding Paste in palms and distribute thoroughly through wet, clean hair.
2. Dry hair with a blowdryer, giving it a little volume everywhere.
3. Follow up with more Rough Luxury Soft to define hair in front and push it over to the side without any partings.
4. Before walking out the door, rough up hair a bit and finish with Superfine Hair Spray.

Get Joanna抯 Look:
1. Start with clean, dry hair and create a deep side part. Section off hair and curl with a 1-inch curling iron, spraying each section with Superfine Hair Spray before wrapping around the barrel. Set hair in velcro rollers and let cool for 30 minutes.
2. Release each section of hair and mist with Thick Dry Finishing Spray. Brush through the curls gently to give them a soft look.
3. For the front wave, keep volume in by spraying a little Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots and combing up and back off the face to create a high, gentle wave in front.
4. Sweep hair to the opposite shoulder of the deep side part and brush through again. To set the look, spray with more Thick and finish with Superfine.
