Reel to Reality

Celebrities play a pivotal role in setting trends in beauty and fashion, not only as they walk the red carpet but also through the roles they play on tv and in the movies. Many of the most popular styles of the past several decades have been taken directly from iconic on-screen characters, with women and men across the country requesting to look like their favorite stars.

We talked to NYC-based stylist and salon owner Ryan Nickulas, whose stellar resume includes editorial work with publications such as Cosmopolitan, Nylon and Glamour, to create a retrospective of actors and actresses whose hair-raising statements left a mark in the beauty world. – Anne Rivera
